Prime Minister - Rwanda needs strong private sector

On 20th March 2013, the Prime Minister Dr. Pierre Damien HABUMUREMYI held a meeting with private sector representatives in Serena Hotel where he called for an organised private sector far sustainable development.

During their discussions, Prime Minister urged private sector to adapt the Government speed in development vision.

"No country has developed worldwide without a strong and organised private sector” said Prime Minister.

He pointed out that huge investment opportunities are in the government priorities like energy, mining, agro-processing, technical vocational schools and tourism sector.

The Premier also called upon private sector to use information technology to make the businesses and services easier, quick and profitable.

The discussions touched on the procurement and tender issues where the head of Government informed them that new software to track payment process is under construction which will reduce delays in payment process in public institutions.

On the other hand Prime Minister called upon Private sector to finish their works on the agreed timeframe in the tender.

The Private sector representatives gathered in Serena Hotel are from 75 associations from the whole country.
